This I-beam sizes chart lists all 28 American Standard beams (S shapes) in the AISC Shapes Database v16.0. S beams have narrow, tapered flanges. In everyday use, “I-beam” often also means a wide flange (W) beam, which has wider, parallel flanges and is far more common today; see the wide flange beam sizes chart.
